Our Learning
In Pre - School, we follow the EYFS Curriculum in an exciting, engaging and challenging way. Exploring through play is at the heart of everything we do and we firmly believe that if they children are having fun, then they are learning even more!
Our themed tuff trays link to what we have been learning about each week with a fine motor skill included. Some focus on Seasons & Celebrations (Winter/ Bonfire Night), while others are linked to our Pre - School texts (The Gruffalo), subjects (Colour Mixing for Art) or even our interests (Dinosaurs / On the Farm)
Autumn Listening Walk
We all enjoyed using our super listening ears to go on a walk around school. We heard all sorts of different sounds from birds singing to telephones ringing and people talking and cars driving past.
Autumn Fun
We enjoyed a wonderful morning in our nature area. We looked for signs of Autumn, made bird feeders and we really enjoyed making our own clay faces using things we found on the forest floor. We then went to warm up in The Hive with some hot chocolate!
Christmas Trip - Abbey House Museum
We all enjoyed a fantastic trip to Abbey House Museum. We explored the Victorian streets looking for cheeky sprouts, enjoyed lots of dressing up and even met someone very very special!
Ducklings
Pre - School have absolutely loved spending time with the ducklings. We have seen them grow so much and we even saw one hatch!
French Day
We all really enjoyed our French Day, especially sampling lots of delicious French food. We are really enjoying our French learning with Camembear and are able to use some simple french phrases.
We're Going on a Bug Hunt!
Pre School are loving hunting for minibeasts around school! Ladybirds, millipeeds, woodlice, caterpillars and much more!
We are so excited this week as we have had a delivery of Caterpillars. We are fascinated watching them grow! We are very good at explaining the life cycle of a Butterfly and so excited to watch them turn into one! We will keep you updated!
