25 in The Hive / Homework
25 in the Hive
January 2024: Looking for a new challenge, our wraparound children took the lead in creating their own After School Club achievements. Through a collaborative process of mind-mapping, researching, and plenty of group discussion, they launched '25 in The Hive'—a wonderfully varied checklist of 25 activities to accomplish across the year. Over time, this project has even seen us successfully raise 15 ducklings, affectionately named by the children (with 'David Peckham' and 'Allison Pecker' being particular highlights for staff and pupils alike!). Check out the full, fun list of student-chosen activities below.
Homework
We appreciate that after a long day at school, children may not feel as enthusiastic about completing homework tasks. We have Chromebooks for children to complete any online homework. We encourage children to be as independent as possible when completing their homework and we have found that if children have the option to complete any tasks, they will often take themselves to a quite area with a group of friends and they complete any tasks set for them. Our staff are always on standby if children are really struggling.
If you do have any further questions about our Read and Feed or Homework provision, please speak to a member of staff.
