Maths

At Crossley Street we follow the White Rose Maths scheme, but Maths isn't just about learning methods and number facts! We want our children to love Maths and we try to teach in lots of different ways, ensuring that Maths has a purpose and is taught in fun and engaging ways.

Autumn Term Maths

The autumn term is always full of fun activities linked to place value, addition and subtraction and other number challenges. We try to take the learning outside when we can or make our 'wow' lessons really practical. Here are a selection of activities which classes have carried out.

Year 3 have enjoyed learning about place value and number patterns. Each lesson brings a new challenge, using practical equipment really helps their understanding.

Year 6 love to get outside or hands-on for their WOW lessons. These slides show a range of these different challenges from fraction sprints to conversion relays.

In Year 4, we have learnt all about Roman numerals. This video really helped with retention - it is very catchy!!
