Crossley Street Primary School

Inspiring today to achieve tomorrow.

P.E/Sport - A snapshot of some of the things we do...

Spring Term

Orienteering Inter-School Competition

The end of February saw us taking eight (yes eight!!) teams to the inter-school competition at Wetherby High.  It was unbelievably muddy, so cold and wet but everybody who took part was AMAZING!!  We won both the Y3/4 competition and the Y5/6 competition, which means we go forward to represent Leeds in the West Yorkshire Finals!  Absolutely incredible.

Autumn Term

Tri-Golf - Taster session and Inter-School Competition

The Tri-Golf taster session (11.11.19) proved very popular with the children, with lots attending.  Ten children were then chosen to represent our school in the competition tonight (18.11.19).  Every single one of them were amazing and their fantastic team work paid off, as we won!!

Yet more sporting success to celebrate.

Sports Hall Athletics - Taster Sessions and Inter-School Competition

Some children from Years 4-6 have been taking part in the free taster sessions at Wetherby High School over the past few weeks.  Activities included relays, long-jump, triple jump and speed bounce, to name but a few!  This lead to an inter-school competition, where we came second.  Absolutely brilliant achievement!

Wetherby High School - Football Tournament

We were absolutely delighted, that we could enter two teams in this years tournament.  It was a fantastic turnout, with 14 teams competing in total.  Both our squads were incredible and played so well.  A huge well done to squad 1, who got through to the final and won!!  An amazing achievement.  We're so proud of you all.

Sports Person of the Year 2018-2019

For the first time at Crossley Street, all the teachers picked one person for a special 'Sports Person of the Year' award.

This was presented to children, who had shown outstanding talent in P.E over the year.
