Ofsted Report

Dear Parents/ Carers,

I am sure you will all be eager to hear the outcome of our recent Ofsted Inspection and I am delighted to report that we have been judged to be “outstanding by all measures.” This is a tremendous achievement, particularly under the new more challenging framework, but it is one that the entire school community truly deserves. I am thrilled that the inspectors recognised the tireless hard work, commitment, dedication and diligent professionalism that occur every day across school and how the school has improved over time because of the relentless drive for excellence. They also noted that all pupils overall make outstanding progress from Early Years to Year 6, despite varying starting points and additional needs, because teaching is consistently of a very high standard. Additionally, they acknowledged that the school environment is vibrant and welcoming and learning is fun, behaviour is exemplary and pupils are overwhelmingly positive about life in school, are well cared for and feel safe.

Our “outstanding” judgement will not bring complacency and we continue to share a constant desire for improvement. We had a detailed development plan already in place to map growth and I was pleased that the inspectors agreed with our school focus to improve our early year’s outdoor provision and assessment procedures, we have several plans already under discussion.

I know you will agree when I say the outstanding result across all measures is no mean feat and I hope you will share in celebrating our success and be as proud of our brilliant school as I am; it really is a team effort; children, staff, parents, governors. I frequently say it is a privilege and pleasure to be the head teacher at Crossley Street and to lead the team, indeed it is a very special place because of everyone who is connected to school and I know we will go from strength to strength through whatever challenges the future presents.

Thank you for your continued support,

Mrs S Clynes
